Quality Engineer / Quality Controller
Working Pattern: 4-day week (Monday–Thursday, 39 hours)
A well-established manufacturing business is looking to appoint a Quality Engineer / Quality Controller to support its quality function following recent team changes. This role would suit either an experienced Quality Engineer or a Quality Controller ready to take on more responsibility and step into Quality Engineer-level tasks.

Role Overview
The Quality Engineer / Quality Controller will report to the SHEQ Manager and work closely with inspectors, production teams, and senior management. The position combines hands-on shop floor involvement with quality systems and problem-solving, with a strong emphasis on communication and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
* Investigate non-conformances and carry out root cause analysis and CAPA activities
* Complete customer and internal documentation (NCRs, SCARs, and reports)
* Carry out audits across processes, products, and suppliers
* Support inspection activities including dimensional checks and traceability
* Work closely with production teams to identify issues and implement preventative measures
* Monitor quality KPIs and report findings to management
* Liaise with customers and internal stakeholders on quality matters
* Support and maintain the Quality Management System (ISO 9001)
Requirements
* Experience in a Quality Engineer or Quality Controller role
* Background in manufacturing such as precision engineering, fabrication, sheet metal, assembly, or similar environments
* Understanding of ISO 9001 and quality systems
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
* Strong communication and problem-solving skills
* Confident using IT systems and quality documentation tools
* Proactive approach with a willingness to learn and develop
