About The Role

We are looking to recruit an individual with a passion for the industry into our growing team. This role will be working alongside a senior Investment Manager to assist in the management of his clients. This work will cover all aspects of administration of the accounts, from opening, working with investment managers during the account’s life, and closing accounts, while ensuring this is performed in a compliant manner. We provide full training and opportunities to progress toward becoming an Investment Manager.
As a Trainee Investment Manager you’ll be part of a team aiding the client experience, with responsibilities including but not limited to:
* Producing investment proposal documents
* Preparing client review presentations and data
* Taking an active part in team investment discussions
* Once qualified to a sufficient degree, rebalancing client portfolios
* Processing payments and using discretion to raise cash or invest new funds
* Monitoring team investment models
* Distributing valuations, tax packs and periodic commentary
You’ll work closely with clients and their agents to provide the best service with information and reports regarding their portfolio, requiring effective relationship building with stakeholders internal and external. You will also assist in general administration as part of the team’s daily duties, including answering phones, preparing PowerPoint presentations, preparing suitability letters and maintenance of suitability affirmations. You will facilitate the smooth opening of new accounts and assist Investment Managers in preparing for client meetings.
Core Competencies
We use the Microsoft Office suite daily; a good understanding of Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook is necessary. Familiarity with Excel functions such as VLOOKUP, IF and SUMIF is helpful, and willingness to learn more to streamline the role. An understanding of Macros and Pivot tables would be beneficial.
Consumer Duty & SMCR
Consumer Duty: To understand and fulfil the requirements of Consumer Duty and act to deliver good client outcomes, as appropriate within roles and responsibilities.
SMCR Roles: Functions requiring qualifications.
About You
* You will ideally be looking to start your career within Investment Management and work toward completing exams to become a fully qualified Investment Manager.
* Independent worker and thinker.
* Interest in financial services or understanding of our financial services where you can utilise knowledge in investment management.
* Good level of communication skills.
* QFA or CISI Level 4 qualification is ideal but not essential.
