GMP Recruitment is proud to partner with one of the UK’s leading and fastest-growing manufacturers in the aerospace industry. We are supporting our client by recruiting a highly motivated Production Planner to support and manage the team within our expanding aerospace division. This is a Fixed Term Contract position (Maternity Cover) offering a competitive salary of up to £50,000 per annum, along with excellent benefits including 25 days holiday + bank holidays, life assurance, healthcare scheme, pension, employee assistance programme, retail discounts, and a 37.5-hour workweek with an early finish on Fridays.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the client’s view of supply and demand across all teams, creating and maintaining capacity plans for production and other departments, including existing and planned projects.
Main duties of the Production Planner:
1. Own and maintain the overall Master Production Schedule (MPS), ensuring alignment with business objectives.
2. Develop, manage, and control scheduling processes for supporting functions.
3. Maintain and update departmental capacity profiles to support resource planning and efficiency.
4. Lead ERP scheduling to ensure optimal stock levels, balancing supply chain and production requirements.
5. Monitor adherence to schedules, escalating risks or delays as necessary.
6. Conduct resource aggregation, scenario planning, and capacity modelling based on current and forecasted schedules.
7. Ensure all processes and procedures are documented within the Business Management System (BMS) and kept up-to-date.
Required skills and experience:
* Extensive experience in scheduling within a Production and Engineering environment.
* Proficiency with resource, schedule, and planning tools.
* Ability to simplify complex data into actionable information.
* Excellent communication skills at all levels.
* Outstanding problem-solving abilities with innovative solutions.
* In-depth knowledge of ERP systems, preferably Epicor Kinetic.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
* Strong analytical skills, capable of interpreting and presenting detailed data.
* High attention to detail and commitment to continuous improvement.
