We are seeking a Project Manager to join our team based from South Depots.
In this role, you will safely manage the delivery of selected projects within the Major Programmes portfolio on time, on budget and to quality.
You’ll lead the project through its life cycle by planning resources, allocating tasks and responsibilities, tracking financials, managing the schedule, monitoring and mitigating risks, and keeping stakeholders up to date, to deliver the project successfully.

1. Lead the successful delivery of projects aligned to strategic goals, ensuring they are on time, on budget, and high quality
2. Own and manage project schedules, risks, scope, and stakeholder engagement across the full project lifecycle
3. Drive a culture of safety, compliance, and continuous improvement, embedding lessons learned into future delivery
4. Ensure robust financial control, tracking and forecasting project costs to deliver value for money
5. Champion effective communication and collaboration, developing stakeholder and communication plans where needed
6. Lead projects through governance processes, including stage gates, change control, and configuration management
7. Manage external suppliers and contractors, ensuring compliance with procurement and site control standards
8. Inspire and lead project teams, providing clear direction and influence across the organisation to deliver common goals
The experience you’ll need
To be considered for this role we recommend you demonstrate the below in your application;
9. Project pro – Proven success delivering projects, with a formal qualification or accreditation (APM PMQ) and a strong grasp of the tools and techniques that drive project success
10. You bring people with you –Confident communicator, with strong influencing stakeholder management skills
11. You speak rail –Experience in a train operating company or similar industry
12. Think smart –Critical thinker and problem solver who sees the bigger picture
13. Lead from the front –Organised, proactive and ready to inspire others
14. Degree or equivalent – You’ve built your capability through study, experience, or both
15. Tech-savvy –Fluent in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and MS Project
16. Set the tone – Professional in approach, inclusive in mindset, and a role model for Southeastern’s values
