Key Responsibilities
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
5. Work 1:1 and in small groups with pupils who have additional needs
6. Support emotional regulation and help build confidence and resilience
7. Assist teachers by adapting lessons and learning materials
8. Encourage positive behaviour and a calm classroom environment
9. Build strong relationships with pupils as a trusted adult
10. Monitor progress and provide feedback to teachers
11. Support with personal care, where required
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should have:
12. A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (essential)
13. Experience working in an SEN setting (essential)
14. Experience providing 1:1 support (preferred)
15. Personal care experience (essential)
16. A patient, caring, and flexible approach
17. Strong behaviour management skills
18. The ability to adapt to different school environments
19. Good communication skills
Safeguarding, Prevent, and FGM training can also be provided free of charge.
