Job Opportunity: Senior Quantity Surveyor
We are expanding our commercial management team to support National Highways' annual £1bn investment programme aimed at maintaining the Strategic Road Network. We are looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team.
Location: Wakefield, Calder View House office, with a flexible work arrangement of at least 2 days in the office and remote work for the remaining days.
Responsibilities include:
1. Leading commercial and contract management for all schemes, ensuring compliance with contracts and timely responses to contractual matters.
2. Managing a team of quantity surveyors, commercial assistants, graduates, and apprentices; providing mentoring, training, and support for professional development, including MRICS qualifications.
3. Overseeing supply chain management, including payment assessments, documentation, quotations, and instructions.
4. Ensuring accurate cost capture, supporting scheme forecasts, and managing associated risks.
5. Managing site-level change processes, including communication with clients and supply chain, Early Warning, and Compensation Events.
Candidate requirements:
* A degree in Quantity Surveying or a relevant technical qualification, or relevant professional qualification such as MRICS or MCInstCES.
* Experience in contract administration, preferably in a portfolio or programme setting; NEC contract experience is desirable.
* Proven experience in a Quantity Surveying or Commercial role within civil engineering or infrastructure sectors, providing expert advice on complex commercial matters.
* Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage, prioritize, and collaborate effectively.
