ELECTRICAL PROJECT ENGINEER – ENVIRONMENT

NORMANTON

What you will be doing:

An opportunity has arisen for an Electrical Project Engineer to join the team at Galliford Try within our Environment Business.

Ideally, you will be based in or around the Normanton area and will have the opportunity to travel across multiple sites/projects in the Region.

You will become a key member of a team successfully delivering schemes of varying sizes, predominantly to the Water Industry in sewage and clean water. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will work alongside the project delivery team to ensure the design, procurement, financial control, and site activities are achieved.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Outline engineering from inception to completion of schemes utilising in-house resources, site installation, and construction personnel.
2. Delivery of water M&E projects, Pumping Stations, Dosing Systems, Chlorination plants & associated civil structures, etc.
3. Early site investigation works in coordination with the client, design, and project team.
4. Production and review of health and safety documentation (risk assessments & method statements / Project management plans).
5. Procurement of materials.
6. Attend/undertake factory, site, and works testing, commissioning, and client training.
7. Attend and contribute to internal and client design reviews.
8. Work closely with the design team to gather all required information, participate in regular design reviews and Hazard Studies to develop the best solution.
9. Involvement with cost to complete / budget reviews with the project delivery teams.
10. Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors.
11. Assist with the evaluation and submission of claims for variation works.
12. Liaise with site managers and site teams to ensure work is completed to programme, budget, and quality standards.
13. Develop Inspection and Test Plans and ensure their completion as the scheme progresses.
14. Innovate while maintaining compliance with current standards.
15. Prepare and manage project programmes.
16. Maintain high standards of Health & Safety performance proactively.
17. Develop and close out all contract documentation such as “As built” drawings, Commissioning Manuals, and Operation and Maintenance Manuals.

About You:

* An industry applicable electrical ONC/HNC/ or NVQ equivalent.
* Proven experience within the Water Industry.
* Commercial and contractual awareness.
* Working knowledge of Microsoft packages including Project.
* Desire to understand and promote the Company purpose, vision, values, and culture.

* Organised, structured, and professional, with a passion for excellence.
* Flexibility, resilience, and the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels.
* Excellent communication skills (email/phone/face to face).

* Experience in leading and managing functions where required.
