An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Advanced Clinical Nurse Specialist Rapid Cancer Diagnostic Service within our Cancer Services Department based at University Hospital Crosshouse.
What you will do:
The Rapid Cancer Diagnostic Service (RCDS) is a flagship service for the Scottish Government Cancer Strategy (2023-2033). The overall aim of RCDS is to deliver faster and earlier diagnosis and improve patient experience for patients with non-specific symptoms where cancer is suspected. The Advanced Clinical Nurse Specialist (ACNS) performs active clinical triage of referrals from GPs and acute care clinicians and coordinates testing, timely diagnosis, onward referral, healthcare advice and communication.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:
The ACNS needs to have excellent communication skills, substantial experience in cancer and advanced decision making and a professional qualification in Clinical Assessment and Decision making.
