We currently have a vacancy for a lecturer in ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) at our Yale Campus.

Experience of teaching ESOL within the UK is essential (ideally including a range of different levels from beginners/E1 through to Level 2). Typically over 65% of our learners are beginner/entry level learners.

The successful candidate will also have proven organisational ability which will help you to balance the teaching and administration requirements of the role. You will work well as part of a team and be willing to work flexibly, including evenings, as well as working independently to write schemes of learning and develop resources to engage and motivate your learners. As an individual you will be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people and vulnerable adults.

A knowledge or understanding of the national ESOL agenda and a commitment to achieving targets in line with that agenda is important to the delivery of the provision.

With an awareness of the importance of quality standards within teaching, you will have knowledge of a broad range of learning needs and how to support these needs within a learning environment and demonstrate an understanding of current developments within your own specialist area. You should be open and responsive to the needs of others and be able to adapt quickly to changing circumstances and new ideas.

Essential Requirements

* Qualified or willing to work towards CELTA at grade B or over (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Speakers of Other Languages) or other recognised ESOL teaching qualification.
* You will be a qualified teacher and hold either a PGCE, Cert Ed or C&G 7407.
* Develop and use a range of learning and teaching techniques and prepare effective written and visual teaching materials.
* Demonstrate an understanding of current developments within your own specialist area and ways of keeping up to date with such developments.
* Knowledge of the broad range of learning needs and how to support these needs within a learning environment.
* Be able to analyse and use key information to inform teaching and learning.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a strong team player, displaying energy and enthusiasm in the learning environment.
* Proficient in MS Office and ideally in Google applications and using the internet and intranet.

Welsh language skills are desirable for this position.

Coleg Cambria is committed to raising the profile of the Welsh language. The promotion of the Welsh language is an essential part of the work we do. Applicants are welcome to submit an application in Welsh. An application submitted in Welsh will not be treated less favourably than an application submitted in English.

Application forms, explanatory material, information about the interview process and assessment methods and job descriptions all available in Welsh.

Coleg Cambria is a 'Disability Confident' employer.

The promotion of Equality and Diversity is an essential part of the work we do and as part of this, the college is committed to having a diverse staff group.

The safety of children, young people and adults identified as 'vulnerable' is paramount and Coleg Cambria is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of these individuals and to the rigorous implementation of Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) procedures and arrangements. A DBS Disclosure will be requested from the successful candidate. Depending on the role you are applying for, if successful, you may also be required to register with the Education Workforce Council.

Please be aware that Coleg Cambria reserves the right to close our vacancies earlier than the listed date if we have received a high level of applications. We would recommend that if you wish to be considered that you complete the application as promptly as possible.
