Medical Assistant, Worcester OBGYN, 32 Hours, Days
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 32 hours, Day shift (8:30 AM – 5:00 PM). Location: Worcester OBGYN. Cost Center: 34000 - 3435 Worcester OBGYN. Exemption Status: Non-Exempt. This position may have a signing bonus available; eligibility to be confirmed during the interview process.
Responsibilities
* Escorts patients to examination rooms, takes and records vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, height, weight, etc.), and documents patient health status, history, and progress following standard procedures.
* Performs EKGs, phlebotomy, and Point of Care (POC) tests according to clinic/office standards.
* May prepare, document, and administer non-intravenous injections as directed or required by the office/clinic, within scope of practice.
* Assists in performing routine physical examinations or clinical procedures.
* Reviews laboratory results and ensures abnormal results are communicated to the physicians and appropriate staff promptly.
Qualifications
* High School Diploma or equivalent.
* Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or Heart Saver (HS) certification from the American Heart Association. If not available at hire, BLS/HS must be obtained within 3 months from the date of hire. If not obtained within 3 months, termination or reassignment may occur.
* Medical Assistant credential approved by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (e.g., ARMA, NHA) must be obtained within 1 year from date of hire/transfer. A grace period may be granted by senior leadership for extenuating circumstances.
* All of the above and must already have the Medical Assistant certification or registration prior to start date (for MA II role).
