About the School The school is a community special school that supports pupils with a range of additional needs including: Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) Speech, language and communication needs Moderate to severe learning difficulties Sensory and physical needs Complex learning difficulties and disabilities All pupils have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and benefit from a personalised curriculum, specialist facilities and a multi-disciplinary approach to learning. Classes are typically small (around 6–12 pupils) allowing staff to provide meaningful, individualised support. The school also offers: A Life Skills Centre preparing pupils for independence Post-16 provision and supported internships On-site specialist therapies including speech and language, occupational therapy and physiotherapy Satellite provisions in local mainstream schools supporting inclusive learning opportunities. The Role As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils both academically and emotionally. You will: Support pupils with SEND to access learning in a structured and nurturing environment Work closely with teachers and therapists to deliver tailored learning plans Assist with behaviour regulation and social development Encourage independence, confidence and communication skills Help pupils develop essential life skills for adulthood This is a highly rewarding role suited to individuals who are passionate about supporting children with additional needs.
