Responsibilities and missions
Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
1. Deliver the relevant budgeted sales and margin contribution for the product ranges
2. Define the product strategy and roadmap
3. Present business cases for product range developments
4. Introduce new product ranges within the given timescales differentiating between the IronmongeryDirect customer requirements
5. Develop the core positioning and messaging for the product
6. Source new products
7. Negotiate terms and cost pricing with suppliers
8. Project manage the introduction of new product ranges
9. Merchandise products through the catalogue and web site to achieve maximum product performance
10. Be an expert with respect to the competition
11. Be an expert with respect to the supplier base
12. Conduct product range reviews to increase profitability and efficiency of the product range
13. Monitor, analyse and report product range performance statistics
14. Utilise Google Analytics and work with the Digital team to implement actions to improve conversion rates
15. Set competitive pricing and meet revenue and profitability goals
16. Develop sales tools for the Contact Centre
17. Provide product briefings to the Contact Centre
18. Work with the marketing department to develop product launch and product marketing plans
19. Develop product management workflow and processes
Qualities and skills needed
Skills and experience:
20. Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Product Manager or Category Manager
21. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
22. Excellent teamwork skills
23. Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams
24. Strong ability to analyses data, draw conclusions and set strategic actions
