Director of Estates and Risk Management – Kent - £70,000
The Job:
A senior leadership role responsible for the strategic leadership and operational delivery of Estates, Facilities, and Risk Management services across the College. The postholder will ensure the estate is safe, compliant, sustainable and efficiently managed, supporting the College’s long term Estates Strategy and organisational priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership across Estates, Facilities, and Risk Management, ensuring a safe, compliant and high quality environment for students and staff
- Develop and deliver the College’s long term estates strategy, including capital programmes, maintenance planning, asset management and sustainability initiatives
- Oversee estates operations, project delivery and outsourced services, ensuring performance, compliance, value for money and effective contract management
- Lead on risk management, health and safety, business continuity and insurance arrangements, ensuring full statutory compliance and robust organisational resilience
- Provide expert strategic advice and reporting to senior leadership and the Board, driving continuous improvement and supporting evidence based decision making

A multi site further education college based in Kent, committed to delivering high quality education within a safe, modern and sustainable estate. The College places strong emphasis on operational excellence, student experience, and long term infrastructure investment.
The Candidate:
- Senior leadership experience in estates, facilities, property, or infrastructure management within a complex organisation
- Strong background in estates strategy, capital delivery, maintenance planning, and compliance frameworks
- Proven experience managing risk, health and safety, and business continuity in a regulated environment
- Confident budget holder with experience in procurement, contract management, and delivering value for money
- Strong communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders at senior level and lead service improvement
The Package:
- £70,000 per annum DOE
- 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday
- Full-time, 52 weeks per annum
- Based at Kent campus with travel to other College sites
- Senior leadership role with strategic influence across the organisation

All applicants must hold a minimum of an NVQ Level 2, Scottish NVQ Level 2, or an equivalent qualification relevant to the role applied for. Candidates must also have the legal right to work in the UK or hold a valid visa permitting employment.
