Social Worker 8305 | Permanent contract | £29,289 to £32,818 per annum (Scale I/J) | 30 hours per week | Hellesdon Hospital
We offer a £2000 welcome payment for qualified and experienced Social Workers/Occupational Therapists (grade J and above), Practice Consultants and Team Managers new to Norfolk County Council. Amount to be repaid in full should they leave within two years of employment.

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and hardworking Social Worker to join the North Norfolk Mental Health Social Work Team based at Hellesdon Hospital, Norwich for 30 hours per week, working Tuesday to Friday. You would be co-located with our key partner agency, Norfolk and Suffolk Foundation Trust and provide an integrated approach to assessment and care. Working in a friendly, supportive team you will work alongside the Team Manager, Practice Consultant, Social Workers and Assistant Practitioners to support adults with mental health needs in the North Norfolk area. You will provide statutory responsibilities under the Care Act 2014, Mental Health Act 1983 and other relevant legislation.
We adopt a hybrid model of working where there will be the expectation of some working from the office base as well as remote working. It’s an exciting time to join us in Adult Social Services, using the ‘Living Well’ approach to care our vision is to promote independence and support recovery for people with mental health needs.
You will be passionate about making a difference, and ready to embrace change. A team player, you will need to demonstrate an ability to work under pressure, be well organised and able to effectively prioritise and risk assess a complex caseload. You will have experience, knowledge and commitment to strength-based assessments. Knowledge and experience of working with people with mental health needs is desirable, however not essential as you will be supported to develop into the role with regular supervision, training and support. If not already qualified as an Approved Mental Health Professional or Practice Educator, these career pathways are encouraged in our service. The ability to travel is essential.
Norfolk has some of the most scenic and peaceful countryside and picturesque villages and market towns. The area offers numerous traditional pubs, an array of walking/cycling routes for the outdoor enthusiast and is a short distance from the historic and bustling city of Norwich. There are excellent rail links to London and the North and Norwich International Airport provides a range of flights to Europe and beyond.

Norwich is the county capital of Norfolk, 120 miles from London and 60 miles from Cambridge. It\'s on the edge of the Broads National Park, and a 40-minute drive to the seaside. Norwich is a superb city. It effortlessly mixes outstanding heritage through the ages with modern shopping centres, excellent restaurants, hundreds of cafés and pubs, a superb arts and theatre scene with huge parks and green spaces, canoeing, rowing and sailing. By train, Norwich to London takes 90 minutes and Cambridge less than an hour. There are also direct train links to the Midlands. Norwich International Airport has regular flights to Schiphol, Amsterdam and from there on to the rest of the world, plus daily internal flights to Scotland, Manchester, Exeter and Dublin.
