The Senior Learning Experience Designer Bitesize will help lead the Bitesize strategy towards its transformation journey to become a favoured learning destination platform. The role will also support the development of the design practice in the education and learning domain, helping to future‑proof Bitesize. This is a senior role in scope, influence, and accountability. You’ll be expected to identify and frame problems, set direction, and influence decisions beyond your immediate team. You will still design, but your impact will extend through leadership, strategic thinking and raising the quality of work around you. You’ll work closely with senior product, engineering, editorial and delivery partners, often as part of a trio, to ensure we’re solving the right problems and delivering inclusive, high‑quality outcomes aligned to organisational strategy. This role is for designers who lead through judgement, influence, and care for outcomes, alongside craft excellence. Delivering world class experiences for all.

* Align design activity to strategic objectives and audience value
* Influence priorities and decisions with senior stakeholders, using evidence and clear reasoning

* Have practical experience applying accessibility and inclusive design practices
* Support and mentor other designers through day‑to‑day collaboration
Qualifications
* This Senior Learning Experience Designer role requires experience in instructional design and educational technology at scale, with a strong background in curriculum development and digital pedagogy.

* Examples of iteratively refining designs using audience feedback, analytics and testing, in collaboration with a Learning Scientist.
* Experience of designing and conducting research for younger audiences (under 18s), with a strong understanding of their needs.
* Examples of leading end‑to‑end design of complex digital products and services across multiple workstreams.
* Demonstrable examples of championing accessibility, quality and best practice, balancing high standards with pragmatic delivery.
* Ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders, navigating competing priorities and working within brand and design systems.
* Experience of leading, mentoring and coaching designers collaboratively to enhance impact and future‑proof strategy.
