Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) – South Region
Location: Northamptonshire (with regular travel to Wolverhampton and High Wycombe)
Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 per annum + car allowance
Contract: Permanent, Full Time
Hours: 8:30am – 5:00pm
Team: Central Education Team
About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to join a central team supporting schools across the South Region. This is a strategic leadership role focused on ensuring high-quality SEND provision and positive outcomes for pupils with additional needs.
You will play a key role in shaping SEND strategy, supporting colleagues, and ensuring statutory and regulatory requirements are consistently met across multiple sites.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead, develop, and oversee SEND provision across the South Region
* Monitor and evaluate the quality and impact of SEND support and interventions
* Support, coach, and challenge staff to deliver inclusive and effective practice
* Work in partnership with parents, carers, and external professionals
* Ensure safeguarding, equality, inclusion, and compliance are embedded in practice
* Support school improvement activity and inspection readiness
What We’re Looking For
* Degree or equivalent qualification
* NASENCO or NPQ in SEND (essential)
* Proven experience leading SEND provision within an education setting
* Experience working with secondary-aged pupils, including those with complex needs
* Strong knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, equality, and inclusion
* Confident and inspirational leadership approach with strong coaching skills
* Experience of virtual learning environments and inspection frameworks (desirable)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
