About the role
Balfour Beatty, a leading international infrastructure group, is seeking to recruit a Senior Proposal Writer to join our Regional Build and Regional Civils team in Warrington. In this role, you will support the preparation and management of high-quality proposals for major infrastructure projects across our regional portfolio.
Our ideal candidate will have strong technical experience, a keen eye for detail, and excellent organizational skills. You will work closely with Project Managers and other stakeholders to ensure our bids align with client expectations, company standards, and best practices.
What you'll be doing
As a Senior Proposal Writer, you will:
1. Understand customer requirements, research, collate, and write material to meet pre-qualification and tender submission requirements.
2. Research and prepare supporting information for proposals, including case studies, CVs, project best practices, and innovations.
3. Develop approaches and facilitate answer planning and writing workshops.
4. Lead writing efforts with subject matter experts to produce responses and materials.
5. Support and conduct independent reviews of responses.
6. Work to a timetable to meet tender deadlines.
7. Maintain regular communication with the work-winning team.
8. Capture and develop bid 'win themes' from tender strategy meetings.
9. Write specific responses tailored to submission needs.
10. Maintain project-specific case studies and value reports demonstrating benefits and added value.
11. Create bespoke materials for business development and account management activities.
Who we're looking for
You will have:
* Experience in work-winning/tendering within construction.
* Excellent written English and strong verbal communication skills.
* Thorough knowledge of proposal writing techniques and quality presentation requirements.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to task completion.
