Overview
This is a Bank Sous Chef role at Huntercombe Hall Nursing Home, a 42‑beded residential and nursing home in Henley on Thames, with a CQC rating of "Good" and a 9.7 rating on Carehome.co.uk. The role involves creating fresh, nutritious meals for the residents using the best ingredients, supporting the Head Chef, and mentoring the team. There will be a fully supported induction showcasing the technical skills required in healthcare and an opportunity to mentor our teams to progress in our own Chef academy. The role consists of straight shifts and no evenings.
Responsibilities
* Create fresh, nutritious meals for residents using the best fresh ingredients.
* Support the Head Chef in all kitchen operations.
* Lead by example and showcase high‑level hospitality and creative flair.
* Mentor staff and provide guidance to progress within the Chef academy.
* Ensure food safety and hygiene standards meet CQC requirements.
Qualifications & Skills
* Highly skilled Sous Chef with experience in creating fresh, nutritious meals.
* Experience leading and mentoring a team.
* Knowledge of healthcare cooking requirements.
