You don't need to have worked as an SEN Teaching Assistant before. Schools are looking for individuals who can build positive relationships, remain patient during challenging situations, and provide consistent support to students who need it most. Whether your background is in coaching, care, youth work, support work, or you've recently graduated, many of your existing skills can transfer successfully into an SEN Teaching Assistant role. We'll provide training, guidance, and ongoing support to help you get started with confidence. - Supporting students with additional needs, including autism, ADHD, and SEMH - Working one-to-one and with small groups of pupils - Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies - Helping students engage with learning and classroom activities - Building trust and positive relationships with young people - Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' education, confidence, and wellbeing.
