Esland Care is currently seeking a "Turning the Curve" Teacher to deliver tutoring to small groups and on a 1-1 basis at our children's homes in Shropshire, working out of our SEN school in Ditton Priors. The successful candidate will primarily support our Assessments Home based in Shifnal.
You will support vulnerable children aged 8-18 with SEMH and complex needs.
The Role
We seek an outstanding, committed, and motivated qualified practitioner to enhance teaching and learning within our homes and schools. Our approach is results-based, aiming to "Turn the Curve" for our children and young people. We provide high-quality education in safe, respectful, and inclusive environments, building skills for successful outcomes.
Pupils can access qualifications including Entry Level, Functional Skills, or GCSEs, depending on their current attainment and aspirations. They may also work towards ASDAN qualifications or Unit Awards.

Requirements
* Level 3 Award in Education and Training (AET) or Level 3 Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS)
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or close to gaining it
* Proven experience in specialist education for young people with SEMH
* Experience working with challenging young people
* Knowledge of vocational pathways and subjects
* Experience in one-to-one and small group tutoring
* Passion for inclusion and commitment to supporting all learners
* Understanding of results-based accountability in care and education
* Ability to plan, evaluate, and monitor learning and progress
* Skill in differentiating learning to promote inclusion and attainment
* Ability to build relationships with young people and support staff
* Highly organized with effective time management
* Resilience, stamina, flexibility, and excellent interpersonal skills
* A full UK driving license and access to a vehicle
* A good sense of humor
