Job description
Prospero Teaching are working with a specialist independent school for pupils who have social, emotional and mental health needs, autism spectrum conditions, social communication difficulties and associated learning difficulties in Lyndhurst.
We are looking for a catering assistant who can work within a school’s busy kitchen environment using a variety of equipment where many routine tasks are repetitive and require a degree of sustained physical effort and concentration.
1. Location: SEN School, Lyndhurst
2. Start Date: March 2025
3. Hours: 09:00-14:30 Monday to Friday (term time only)
4. Period: 6 weeks cover
5. Pay: £12 per hour
Key responsibilities:
6. Assisting in the preparation and serving of meals to students and staff
7. Maintaining a clean and hygienic kitchen environment
8. Supporting the catering team with stock management and replenishment
9. Ensuring food safety standards are met at all times
10. Helping to set up and clear down after meal services
What we’re looking for:
11. Previous experience in catering or a similar role is preferred, but not essential
12. A friendly, approachable attitude and the ability to work as part of a team
13. Excellent time management skills and a strong work ethic
14. Knowledge of food hygiene and health & safety regulations (desirable but training can be provided)
15. A genuine passion for providing high-quality service to students
