Our people make the difference. Help lead a high-performing, multi-asset manufacturing operation at the heart of Tata Steel’s Building Systems UK. As Manufacturing Product & Process Manager, you will set the standards for how we operate, drive continuous improvement across lines and processes, and ensure we deliver on safety, quality, cost and delivery every day. You will shape and sustain an operational excellence model across BSUK - raising performance, embedding best practice, and making data-led decisions that improve flow, availability and overall effectiveness. Your remit spans four operating areas and sophisticated, technically complex assets, with clear accountability for measurable business outcomes. What you will do: Lead safety and governance Champion Zero Harm, investigate high-potential incidents, and keep Management of Change, COSHH and industrial hygiene controls tight and current. Embed daily management effectiveness for safety - clear standards, visible controls and timely escalation through the tier process. Lift operational performance Own operating standards, KPIs and OEE across key processing lines. Run the daily management system, including the 5-tier meeting process, ensuring cadence discipline, visual management and effective escalation. Complete system health checks and internal audits, and drive continuous improvement of processes using Lean and Six Sigma to remove waste, stabilise performance and improve yield, availability and on-time delivery, working with the TRIO group to close gaps. Drive projects and digital improvement Identify capex with robust business cases. Push automation and digitisation that strengthen capability and control. Apply structured problem solving methods to define problems, verify root causes and lock in sustainable solutions. Align order acceptance guidelines, manage scrap value recovery, and close out NCRs and complaints. Lead people and standards Coach and develop your team, run appraisals and uphold safe working procedures. Build capability in daily management and continuous improvement, with process confirmation and standard work to sustain gains. Partner across manufacturing, engineering, technical, HSE and commercial to deliver results, acting as the product knowledge expert who connects production capability to customer requirements. What you will need: As a manufacturing professional, you’ll typically hold 5 years’ experience in a fast-paced environment, ideally steel forming or processing, with a data-led approach and proven people leadership. You’ll have hands-on experience with ISO-aligned quality and HSE systems on the shop floor and are comfortable using Lean, Six Sigma and modern production planning to improve yield, availability and on-time delivery. The Manufacturing Product & Process Manager will bring strong problem solving skills and experience running a daily management system, including the 5-tier meeting process, cadence discipline and system health and audit checks. You’ll build credibility with cross-functional teams and external partners, communicate clearly, make timely decisions and follow through to results.
