About the role
Are you passionate about demonstrating the real-world impact of research? Are you confident drafting clear, engaging content and supporting collaborative projects in a research-intensive environment? Imperial College London is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Research Excellence Framework (REF) Senior Impact Officer to support the development and delivery of our REF 2029 submission. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to one of the most significant research assessments in UK higher education, showcasing how Imperial's research drives innovation and improves lives globally.
What you would be doing
As REF Senior Impact Officer, you will support the planning, coordination and delivery of REF submission elements, including impact case studies. You'll work closely with the REF Impact Manager and colleagues across Faculties and central services to source, collate and analyse qualitative and quantitative evidence. You will contribute to drafting content for REF submission statements, reports, and briefings tailored for varied audiences. You will also support the REF Impact Manager in governance activities such as the REF Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Committee, and in maintaining the University's REF web content. You'll manage your own workload and play an active role in collaborating with stakeholders across the University to deliver a high-quality REF submission.

* Have experience sourcing, analysing and presenting both qualitative and quantitative evidence for research, impact or engagement activities.
* Be confident drafting reports, briefings and case studies for a range of audiences.
* Demonstrate strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks to tight deadlines.
* Possess excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective working relationships.
* Take a methodical and proactive approach to problem solving, with a focus on continuous improvement.
* Be comfortable working independently and as part of a team.

This role is for a fixed-term contract to 31 December 2028.
This position could be an opportunity for an internal secondment, with approval from your current line manager.
