Amazon UK is seeking a smart, self-motivated, and creative individual for the role of PR Manager, working on Amazon devices and services, including Amazon Echo, Ring, Blink, Alexa, Kindle, Fire tablets, Fire TV, and Kuiper.
The role involves working with a Senior PR Manager, PR Managers, and PR agencies to manage launches, drive product/feature awareness through a rolling programme of proactive media outreach. Manage creative PR campaigns across owned, earned, paid media, and work closely with business and marketing teams, as well as handle day-to-day press office activities.
Able to work at internet-speed, you will be goal-oriented, have a track record of working on major creative PR campaigns, demonstrate high levels of creativity, and extensive experience in dealing with consumer and technology press.
Key job responsibilities
1. Managing proactive creative PR campaigns and delivering results-focused reports aligned with business goals
2. Collaborating with external PR support to develop and implement proactive PR plans for devices and services
3. Planning product and software launches with clear, results-oriented reporting against objectives
4. Building and maintaining strong relationships with key media contacts
5. Handling complex, fast-moving, and unexpected communications challenges
Basic Qualifications
* Experience in professional communications or public relations
* Several years of PR experience in an agency or in-house
* Experience working with major brands, preferably in the consumer technology sector
* Media relations experience representing high-profile consumer brands, either in-house or through an agency
* Experience dealing with consumer media, including news, technology, and broadcast
Preferred Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, or a related field
* Knowledge of the consumer technology sector
* Understanding of media topics and trends, with the ability to leverage them for maximum PR benefit
* Proactive attitude, enjoys taking responsibility and making things happen
* Creativity in developing hooks, angles, and campaigns that attract press interest
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
