Maintenance Craftsperson (Electrical)

This role involves day‑to‑day maintenance duties directed by Works Officers or Scheduler, completing work orders and recording information per departmental process requirements as well as the materials or parts used.
Surveying, troubleshooting systems, drafting installation plans and technical diagrams, ensuring compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements, maintaining skills and knowledge up‑to‑date, using schematics, drawings, technical specifications, O&M’s and plans as required.
Ensure compliance with mandatory training requirements, cyclical training, requalification or re‑certification requirements associated with the trade or profession, and undertake additional qualifications up to level 2 in a secondary trade to enable multi‑skilled working.
Main duties
* Carry out maintenance of the Trust's assets as directed by the Works Officers and Scheduler.
* Undertake installation work in line with trade qualifications and experience.
* Support the Estates team by providing multi‑skilled trade capabilities for minor works including electrical, mechanical and building related tasks.
* Perform unsupervised routine maintenance work and repairs.
* Assist other trades and collaborate with teammates as delegated by Technicians, Works Officers or Scheduler.
* Engage in continuous professional development and training to improve skills, capabilities and engineering knowledge.
Job responsibilities
The primary task is to undertake day‑to‑day maintenance, servicing, repair and installation work on the full range of infrastructure, equipment and estate assets within the main trade. Secondary, be qualified in a secondary trade and perform work in that area as per skill and qualification level.
Work on all types of systems, from drainage and sewage systems to steam engineering, power generation or control systems.
Maintain maintenance records, databases and spreadsheets, ensuring records are updated and valid.
