Wigan Council is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist (OT) to join the Early Intervention Integrated Services, including Reablement, Equipment & Adaptations, and Assistive Technology. This is a part-time role offering 18.5 hours per week.

Hours: 18.5 hours per week
Rate: £35 per hour
About the Role
As an OT within Early Intervention Services, you will work with children and adults experiencing difficulties with activities of daily living and reduced independence. You will provide highly specialised assessment, treatment, and management to support optimal health and wellbeing within the home and community.
Adult Cases:
Provide assessment, treatment, and management for adults with physical, learning, or mental health needs
Recommend interventions via reablement programs, assistive technology, minor or major adaptations, and equipment
Work closely with Advanced Practitioner OTs and multi-disciplinary teams to deliver an integrated approach to service delivery
Paediatric Cases:
Provide specialist assessment and interventions for babies, children, and adolescents with complex physical, developmental, or learning needs
Recommend and coordinate home adaptations and equipment when further rehabilitation potential is limited
Work collaboratively with Advanced Practitioner OTs and other specialists to develop integrated care plans
Formulate and implement intervention plans that reduce disability impact and increase independence
Key Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality, personalised, and asset-based care to adults, children, and families
Support engagement in the local community and develop outcome-focused recommendations
Work closely with integrated community colleagues to ensure a consistent asset-based approach across the workforce
Ensure compliance with professional, statutory, and organisational standards
Team & Integration
You will be based with one of the three Early Intervention teams as part of the Healthier Wigan Partnership, working collaboratively across health, social care, housing, and public health to promote and maintain independence and wellbeing for service users.
