An opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, flexible Publishing Marketing Coordinator to join our team as maternity cover on a part-time ( 0. 6 FTE) fixed-term contract until October 2026 or the earlier return of the postholder .
This is a hybrid role working in our Bristol office at least one day a week ( Thursday s ).
What will you be doing?
You will take responsibility for marketing groups of titles and related journals in specific subject area s, including preparing and implementing marketing plans for individual titles, writing copy for blurbs, liaising with the authors, editors and series editors, ensuring books are included in relevant catalogues and digital campaigns and writing copy for them, planning and implementing attendance at conferences in the subject areas, arranging online and in-person launch events etc. You will produce marketing collateral in-house using In-Design or Canva, or externally in liaison with designers, including arranging the printing of the materials and attend regular planning and operational meetings to plan campaigns and build market knowledge of your subject areas .
You should apply if
The job will suit someone who has previously worked in publishing who is a great communicator, organiser and decision-maker with experience of design software including InDesign and Canva. You will be an excellent team player used to delivering to tight deadlines. Great copywriting and proof- reading skills are also essential. A marketing qualification is desired but an understanding of marketing academic books and journals is essential.
