About the Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Reconciliation Assistant to join our finance team in Cardiff. This role is ideal for someone with strong numerical skills and a keen eye for accuracy, who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and ensuring financial records are accurate and up to date.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations of bank accounts and internal systems
* Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
* Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation
* Assist with month-end and year-end financial processes
* Liaise with internal departments to resolve reconciliation queries
* Support continuous improvement of reconciliation processes and controls
Requirements
* Previous experience in a finance or reconciliation role preferred
* Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
* Good understanding of basic accounting principles
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel and finance systems
* Strong organisational and time management skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable Skills
* Experience with accounting software (e.g. Sage, SAP, or similar)
* AAT qualification (or working towards)
