Role Description
Deputy Team Manager for the Intermediate Care Service within Bolton Council. The team consists of 12 full and part‑time workers across 5 bases, delivering Intermediate Care services in bed‑based units, community, and Discharge to Assess beds.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist the Service Manager to lead and manage the team, ensuring work is allocated effectively and completed efficiently.
* Support the ongoing timely interactions, monitoring and flow through the service to minimise the impact on other areas such as hospital.
* Provide productivity support while advising and guiding staff.
* Contribute to the development of innovative ways of working across health and social care to improve outcomes and experiences for staff, service users and carers.
* Act as a key contact for support and guidance within the team.
* Participate in the wider Integration agenda, represent and advocate for the service and staff.
* Ensure compliance with mandatory security checks, including enhanced clearance from the Disclosure and Barring Service.
Qualifications and Experience
* Degree in Social Work or equivalent.
* Registered with the Social Work England (SWE).
* Full UK driving licence.
* Experience in service management or supervisory roles in a care setting.
* Strong communication skills and confident representation of the service and staff.
* Knowledge of the Greater Manchester Continuity Commitment is an advantage.
