The firm have multiple offices across Scotland and are currently looking to recruit within their Glasgow branch, based on the outskirts of Glasgow city centre. Your new role
In your new role, you will join the firm's Business Advisory Services team at Senior Manager grade. The key duties of the responsibilities of the role include:
1. Oversee and support the team in all aspects of a client portfolio, ensuring all client deadlines and demands are met by the wider client engagement team.
2. Take ownership of the client portfolio, continue to strengthen relationships with clients and their wider professional network to ensure satisfaction with services provided, working alongside client advisors and identifying opportunities to support clients.
3. Take ownership and responsibility for the delivery of all aspects of client work from start to finish by the client team, in relation to any accounting support required, on budget.
4. Perform accounting work as may be required, particularly work of an advanced technical nature, oversees the finalisation of all accounts, produce detailed reports, and ensure all client queries are answered on a timely basis.
5. Take responsibility for the delivery of specialist advisory and project work to clients, which provides specific tailored advice that meets the client's needs, on budget.
6. Maintain and develop technical knowledge, undertaking research of new legislation, identifying opportunities for clients, and advising accordingly.
7. Liaise with external advisors as appropriate to deliver advice.
8. Coach all members of the team and develop their technical knowledge, ensuring work is delegated to the appropriate level to aid the development of the team.
9. Be a vital part of the management team, involved with the day-to-day operations of the team, ensuring financial and utilisation targets and deadlines are met, support the partner group in setting and delivering the strategic objectives of the department.

11. Understand the wider services of the firm, identifying opportunities to expand the service offering to clients.
12. Demonstrate a working knowledge of GAAP and Accounting Standards – in particular, FRS 102 1A.
What you'll need to succeed
The successful candidate will have experience of working in a similar role at a fellow practice firm and hold a professional qualification such as ACCA, ICAS or similar. You will have experience of managing your own portfolio of clients and possess a strong working knowledge of key accounting systems such as Xero and other cloud-based software. The ideal candidate will also have experience managing and supervising staff and be able to solve problems on behalf of your team in what is a highly-client-facing position.
