Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Milker to join our team on the farm. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the milking of dairy animals, ensuring their health and well-being while maintaining high standards of hygiene and productivity. This role requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to operate various tools and equipment safely.
Duties
* Perform milking duties for dairy animals, ensuring proper techniques are used for animal comfort and milk quality.
* Maintain cleanliness of milking equipment and facilities, adhering to hygiene standards.
* Monitor the health of animals during milking, reporting any concerns to management.
* Use hand tools and power tools for equipment maintenance and repair as needed.
* Engage in basic maths for measuring feed
* Participate in heavy lifting tasks associated with feed and equipment handling.
* Provide general animal care, including feeding and health checks.
* Maintain a safe working environment by following all safety protocols.
Requirements
* Previous experience in animal care or farming is preferred but not essential.
* Strong mechanical knowledge to assist with equipment repair and maintenance.
* Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks regularly throughout the shift.
* A genuine interest in agriculture and animal husbandry is highly desirable.
* Willingness to work flexible hours as required by farm operations.
* Driving licence
