Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced SENCO to join a vibrant, specialist education setting supporting students aged 5 to 18 with complex needs.
Key Responsibilities
* Leading the strategic development of SEND policy and provision
* Designing and implementing targeted interventions to support pupil progress
* Monitoring and evaluating outcomes in line with EHCPs
* Conducting annual reviews and supporting safeguarding as a Deputy DSL
* Working closely with staff, families, and external professionals
* Coordinating day-to-day SEND operations and maintaining accurate records
* Advising colleagues on effective teaching and behaviour strategies
* Leading intervention groups and assessing their impact
* Supporting pupil transitions into and beyond the setting
* Undertaking a 50% teaching commitment (secondary experience preferred, ideally Science)
Requirements
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* National Award for SEN Coordination, or willingness to complete the NPQ for SENCOs
* Experience in school self-evaluation and development planning
* Background in working within autism and/or SEMH settings
* Experience delivering training and leading INSET sessions
* Strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice
* Commitment to ongoing professional development
