The Best Connection are currently recruiting for a Transport Planner for our client based in Purton.
Our client is a haulage company with specialist cranes. They transport and lift a wide range of items to cover many sectors including rail, construction, events, military and utilities.
Your role will include, but is not limited to:
1. Planning routes for up to 20 vehicles.
2. Interacting via phone and email to current and new customers.
3. Managing the drivers day to day.
4. Notifying wide/abnormal loads and arranging escorts.
5. Driver infringement analysis and compliance.
6. Handling accidents and incidents with follow up reports.
7. Using TMS software (Mandata)
8. FORS administration
9. Keeping on top of vehicle maintenance
Preferred skills:
10. Knowledge of abnormal loads and embargo times.
11. HGV licence preferred but not essential.
12. Knowledge of logistics, road transport operations and UK motorway systems
13. Good geographical knowledge
14. Sufficient IT skills
Our Client can offer:
15. Office based role
16. Monday - Friday 8am to 6pm.
17. £15ph with pay increasing over time
