Senior Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist
Location: Bay Tree House, Church Street Close, London EN2 6NZ. The post may require work at other Trust locations within Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey or Islington.
Job Summary
Generic CAMHS support children / young people and their families where there is concern about emotional or behavioural difficulties. Assessment and therapy can be provided to children, young people, and families, where appropriate CAMHS clinicians consult with other professionals. As a Senior Child & Adolescent Psychotherapist in our multi-disciplinary team, you will be assessing young people, delivering evidence-based therapeutic support, and contributing to the overall development and provision of the service. Clinical appointments are provided at the service base and in local schools and other multi-agency settings. Joint working, consultation and liaison with other professionals, services and agencies are a regular feature of the work within a CAMHS setting.
Responsibilities
* Provision of specialist assessments using complex data from a variety of sources, including self-report measures, rating scales, direct and indirect structured observations and semi-structured interviews with clients, family members and others involved in the client’s care, when appropriate.
* Formulation and implementation of plans with shared decision making for intervention and/or management of young person’s mental health problems, based on an appropriate conceptual framework and evidence-based methods.
* Implementation of interventions for individuals, carers, families, and groups, refining formulations and maintaining provisional hypotheses as needed.
* Evaluation and decision making about intervention options, considering theoretical and therapeutic models and highly complex factors shaping the individual, family or group.
* Participate in duty rota to provide same-day support for urgent referrals, risk assessments, and crises, ensuring safety and well-being of young people and families.

* Salary: £61,631 to £68,623 per year pro rata inclusive of HCAS

Education and Qualifications
* Essential: Doctorate in Child & Adolescent Psychotherapy; Registration with the Association of Child Psychotherapists (ACP)
* Desirable: Post-qualification training in additional specialised areas; ADOS-2 training
Skills and Experience
* Essential: Knowledge and skills in complex assessment and intervention; knowledge of the theory and practice of specialised psychotherapeutic therapies with children, young people and families; ability to work with multi-professional teams
* Desirable: Ability to provide consultation to other professionals and non-professional groups
