Senior Product Designer

Overview
Within Centrica Home (B2C), the Product Design team creates digital experiences that balance customer needs with business goals. As a Senior Product Designer you will shape the Hive smart‑home app, enabling customers to manage their homes more efficiently while reducing energy costs and carbon impact.
Responsibilities
Crafting the Hive app experience
* Lead end‑to‑end design for mobile app features, aligned to platform and accessibility standards.
* Create flows, wireframes and prototypes to test and validate ideas.
* Make complex smart‑home technology feel simple and intuitive.
Working within and evolving our design system
* Contribute scalable components, patterns and documentation.
* Champion consistency across the app.
* Design flexible, content‑driven CMS templates.
Collaborating across teams and stakeholders
* Partner with product, engineering, platform, commercial, copy and brand teams.
* Present work clearly and navigate trade‑offs.
* Work closely with engineers to ensure quality delivery.
Leading user research and validation
* Run usability testing and unmoderated research.
* Partner with UX Research on complex studies.
* Turn insights into actionable design decisions.
Mentoring and driving excellence
* Support mid‑weight and junior designers.
* Stay current with tools and best practice.
I>Help improve design processes and culture.
Minimum criteria
* Strong app product design experience with a portfolio showing impact (please include portfolio or working link).
* Extensive mobile app experience and knowledge of platform guidelines.
* Experience contributing to design systems at scale.
* CMS and content‑driven design experience.
* Proficiency in Figma and prototyping tools.
* Research skills, from planning to insight‑led design.
* Clear communication and strong accessibility knowledge.
Nice to have
* Motion or animation skills for mobile.
* Experience using AI tools in your design workflow.
Education and Certifications
* A design‑related degree (or equivalent professional experience).
