Locum Adult Social Care Lawyer – South Wales – Remote Working – Full time - £55-60 per hour via umbrella
Venn Group’s specialist legal team has partnered with a Local Authority based in the South of Wales who are looking to appoint an experienced Locum Adult Social Care Lawyer to join their team on a full time basis, looking at 37 hours across 5 days per week for an initial contract of 3+ months (subject to extension thereafter).
For this position you will need to be a qualified Lawyer or Barrister, with a current practising certificate, and previous Local Authority experience carrying a full and varied Adult Protection and Community Care caseload.
Duties may include:
1. Conducting Litigation on behalf of the Local Authority
2. Dealing with Deprivation of Liberty matters
3. Managing a full caseload and providing advice & support to the legal team with a focus on Adult Protection and Community Care Matters
4. Ensuring the management of Court of Protection proceedings and related requests for legal advice
5. Preparing applications to Court for orders, and preparing cases and interviewing witnesses
6. Representing in formal legal proceedings, attending Court and undertaking advocacy where appropriate
7. Carrying out case management of complex cases comprising of welfare and financial matters arising from the Care Act 2014
8. Dealing with applications to the Court of Protection for welfare matters and to the County Court under the Mental Health Act 1983 particularly in respect of nearest relation
An hourly rate of £55-60 via umbrella is offered for this position, whilst also offering the opportunity for remote working.
