We are looking for an exceptional Trading Standards Enforcement Officer with a 'can do' attitude, who will report to the Trading Standards Manager.
The post-holder will support delivery of the range of Trading Standards statutory functions, including those related to Product Safety, Illicit Tobacco and Vapes, Consumer Rights, and Metrology.
To succeed in this role, you will have:
* A proven track record of achievement in problem solving and achieving compliance including through partnership working
* Excellent communication skills
* The ability to interpret and apply legislation, communicate well at all levels, prepare, and write reports and be able to present facts and negotiate in a balanced manner
* Experience of working with the public, carrying out investigations and inspections and a knowledge of relevant legislation
You will play an important part in building the Trading Standards function.
Ideally, you'll have relevant Trading Standards experience but we're very happy to receive applications from anyone with enforcement experience willing to undertake formal training. The Council will offer appropriate support to successful candidates in their professional development.
