ESN will be one of the most advanced Emergency Services Networks in the world. and BT is proud to the official supplier providing mission critical and trusted communications for Britain’s Emergency Services. The ESN will replace the existing Airwave network and building upon on EE’s existing 4G network and to provide essential new voice, data services, and critical communications services to 300,000 members of frontline emergency service users.
Being able to provide consistent data that describes the capability of the Radio Access Network (RAN) is critically important to all our customers (BT, PlusNet, EE, and Emergency Service Network). You will be responsible for the delivery and evolution strategy of this Portal as well as the coverage prediction tools that provide input into it. You will have a direct impact upon coverage assurance and representation of service availability, RAN Tools enhancements and evolutions and creation of high level OSS solution designs focusing on positive customer experience.
The successful candidate will be cleared to BPSS (or equivalent) as a minimum. You may even be required to undergo National Security Vetting (e.g. CTC, SC or NPPV).
What you’ll be doing
• Take one of the roles as RAN OSS design authorities providing RAN Visualisation Tools focused on the presentation and analytics of radio coverage, capacity, resilience and deployed infrastructure
• Define the approach on a range of complex, high impact and high-risk customer OSS solutions, and how to apply across its dedicated environments within the network.
• Choose scope and design of the RAN Tools, as well as estimating the time and type of resource needed to support the deliverables with increasing cost impact and time duration
• Engage with technical and non-technical business users using their requirements to propose solution strategy for predicting, planning and visualising RAN data. Support resolving customer affected issues regarding RAN Data, driving efficiency and scalability through the re-use of network designs and ongoing in-life operation of designs
• Advising a matrix (virtual) team of technical experts to deliver network design solutions and provide technical advice to a larger matrix team

What we would like to see on your CV
• Excellent experience in a network radio coverage and radio network infrastructure data.
• Possess a good understanding of Mobile Radio Network & OSS architectures and the design and operational processes to develop and run the network
• Good experience with Forsk Atoll, HTZ ICS Telecom or other radio frequency planning tool (for either land based, maritime or airborne coverage predictions), and GIS / Geo spatial such as Mapinfo, QGIS or ArcGIS
• Proven background in business strategy, organisational performance, finance and KPI’s, data reporting/insights and building a case for change
• Exposure to working with AWS, Azure or other cloud hosting technology would be desirable
