Are you a practical, hands-on problem solver who takes pride in a job well done? We’re looking for a Facilities Assistant to help keep Napier School safe, efficient, and welcoming for pupils, staff, and visitors.
You’ll be part of a small, dedicated team maintaining our buildings, equipment, and grounds to the highest standards. From planned maintenance and repairs to refurbishment projects, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of the school every day.
If you have a background in maintenance, repair, or a specialist trade (such as plumbing, joinery, electrics, or decorating) and a can-do attitude, we’d love you to join our team.
Key responsibilities:
1. Carry out general maintenance and repairs across the site
2. Take responsibility for a specialist trade area (e.g. plumbing, electrical, decorating, or joinery)
3. Support refurbishment and improvement projects
4. Conduct regular checks to ensure compliance with Health & Safety and COSHH standards
5. Maintain tools, machinery, and equipment in good working order
6. Liaise with external contractors to support site improvements and repairs
What we’re looking for:
7. Experience in general maintenance and at least one specialist trade
8. Good understanding of health and safety and site management procedures
9. Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and use initiative
10. A strong team player with excellent attention to detail
11. A reliable, proactive approach and commitment to high professional standards
12. Full UK driving licence (essential)
