Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Bakery Assistant to join our vibrant team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food production and baking, with a keen eye for food safety and cleanliness. The Bakery Assistant will play a vital part in ensuring smooth daily operations, assisting with food preparation, and maintaining a clean and organised workspace.
Responsibilities
* Assist in the preparation and baking of a variety of baked goods, including bread, pastries, and cakes
* Support the food production process by measuring ingredients, mixing doughs, and decorating finished products
* Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in accordance with health regulations
* Organise ingredients and supplies to ensure efficient workflow during busy periods
* Clean and sanitise workstations, equipment, and utensils regularly to uphold cleanliness standards
* Support the team in packaging products for sale or delivery
* Assist with inventory management by monitoring stock levels and notifying supervisors of shortages or expiry dates
* Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of daily production goals
Requirements
* Previous experience in food preparation, cooking, or bakery environments is desirable
* Knowledge of food safety standards and procedures
* Experience working in a kitchen or restaurant setting is advantageous
* Basic understanding of culinary techniques, including baking and food presentation skills
* Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
* Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
* A proactive attitude and willingness to learn new skills
* Good communication skills and ability to work well as part of a team
