Overview
What will you be doing? My client's mission is to be the leading service provider in the Water and Waste Water Infrastructure sectors in the UK. They are known for their commitment to integrity and safety, with a culture that values the well-being and diversity of our people.
My client are proud to be a key partner on delivering a six-year water and wastewater infrastructure pan Scotland capital investment programme. They are currently looking to recruit a Senior Quantity Surveyor based in Glasgow. The role will be mainly office based with the odd day a week working from home.
Responsibilities
* Administer the NEC form of contracts, raising early warning notices to the client and subcontractors, with a keen eye for detail identifying, notifying and pricing of compensation events.
* Produce or support the production of CVRs and P&L reports, and manage subcontractors from tender inquiries to final accounts; review subcontract quotations and be involved in placing subcontract orders.
* Check time-sheets and staff allocations for different work packages, and agree final accounts with clients and subcontractors.
Experience & Skills
* Experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor or similar level within a civil engineering or utilities contractor.
* Familiar with assessing and paying subcontract applications and preparing applications for payment for assigned work packages.
* Proactive mentor: able to manage and mentor junior members of the commercial team, supporting their growth and knowledge.
* Working knowledge of the NEC3 suite of contracts.
* Experience using CEMAR.
* Experience in the Utilities/Rail/Highways sector.
