About Our Nursery
Busy Bees at Midlothian Newbyres is a 154-place nursery offering two settings located across the road from one another: Newbyres Hall (under 3) and St Paul’s (3-5). Located in Gorebridge village, the nursery is convenient for families and staff, with excellent public transport links and a nearby free car park.

Key Responsibilities And Expectations As An Apprentice
* Involvement in planning stimulating activities for children in your care in line with the Curriculum for Excellence and Realising the Ambition
* Deliver a high level of quality childcare, maintaining a professional and positive outcome for both children and staff
* Build effective relationships with children, parents and team members
* Ensure each child’s individual needs are met
* Contribute to safeguarding of all children
* Work toward the apprenticeship standards provided by Busy Bees Education and Training with a defined timeframe for completion
* Be enthusiastic and proactive in developing own skills within the workplace
* Demonstrate commitment to continued professional development
* Communicate with line manager regarding activities and progress within the room
As an Apprentice, you will work with inspiring qualified staff who will support and mentor you while completing your apprenticeship. You will attend bespoke Learning & Development courses, and a Development Coach will regularly visit your nursery to assess progress and provide guidance for the next steps in your apprenticeship.
Qualifications To apply you must be working or caring for children (voluntary or paid). A Level 2 in Early Years, Math, and English (grade C/4 or above) or Functional Skills Level 2 is desirable.
