Role overview
Manage functions within the site ensuring that all resources are operated at optimal efficiency and within budget to effectively secure GREIF UK PLASTICS Ltd's operational and health and safety objectives.
Key Accountabilities
* Ensure GREIF UK PLASTICS Ltd's safety policies and procedures are implemented and adhered to at all times.
* Ensure all health and safety policies and UK HSE regulations are fully followed at all levels, including PPE, Safe System of Work, and Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO).
* Promote a “Safety First” culture, encouraging daily safety improvements within your shift.
* Ensure your shift complies with product and process quality standards set by the QHSE manager and Greif UK Plastics group.
* Follow all critical to quality (CTQ) tests and documentation precisely, report and escalate deviations.
* Meet the daily production plan as set by the production planner.
* Ensure materials are transported to the line in a timely manner and in the correct quantity to fulfill orders.
* Optimize machine performance in terms of Overall Equipment Performance (OEE), addressing losses and supporting performance improvement activities.
* Promote and manage Autonomous Maintenance, including the daily use of Defect Tags, adherence to CIL standards, and run-to-target/centerline checks.
* Follow the company's escalation procedures, including out-of-hours escalation as needed.
* Communicate any problems encountered during work to your Line Manager, providing reasons and outcomes.
Education and Skills
* Supervisory or team leader training, e.g., NVQ level 2/3 or ILM Qualification; training will be provided if needed.
* Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience in an FMCG environment.
* Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma Green Belt or higher qualification.
* Experience in plastics is advantageous but not required.
* Proven leadership skills, including absence management, investigations, and disciplinary procedures.
* Strong leadership and communication skills.
