An exciting opportunity has becomeavailable to join our practice as a Medical Receptionist. We are currently recruiting for 40 hours which is full time across 4 days, the working hours are 7.30am-18.00pm
We operate from two sites based in central Middlesbrough and Nunthorpe
We are a friendly patient centredpractice focussing on excellent patient care with an expanding list size of just under 17,000 patients

Job responsibilities
To be responsible forundertaking a wide range of reception duties and the provision of general supportto the multidisciplinary team. Duties caninclude but are not limited to, greeting and directing patients, effectiveuse of the appointment system, booking appointments, processing ofinformation and assisting patients as required. To act as the central point of contact for patients,the distribution of information, messages and enquiries for the clinicalteam, liaising with multidisciplinary team members and external agencies suchas secondary care and community service providers.
Primary Responsibilities
Thefollowing are the core responsibilities of the receptionist. There may be onoccasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent uponfactors such as workload and staffing levels:
a.Maintaining and monitoring the practice appointmentsystem.
b.Process telephone and requests for eConsults.
c.Answer incoming phone calls, transferring calls ordealing with the callers request appropriately
d.Signpost patients to the correct service
e.Initiating contact with and responding to, requestsfrom patients, team members and external agencies
f.Read code data on Systm One
g.Photocopy documentation as required
h.Data entry of new and temporary registrations andrelevant patient information as required
i.Input data into the patients healthcare records as necessary
j.Direct requests for information i.e. SAR, insurance /solicitors letters and DVLA forms to the administrative team
k.Manage all queries as necessary in an efficient manner
l.Carry out system searches as requested
m.Maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area at alltimes
n.Monitor and maintain the reception area and noticeboards
o.Support all clinical staff with general tasks asrequested
p. Supporting patients using the eConsult system

Qualifications
* Educated to GCSE level or equivalent
* Experience of working with the general public
* Experience of administrative duties
* Excellent communication skills ( written and oral)
* Clear Polite telephone manner
* Competent in the use of Office and Outlook

* Flexible and cooperative
* Motivated
* Sensitive and empathetic in distressing situations
* GCSE Mathmatics and English ( Level 4 or Grade C) or above)
* Experience of working in a Primary Care setting
