About the Role
We are currently recruiting for a Multi Skilled Operative to join our fantastic team at our Tilbury Wharf Marine Aggregates site in Tilbury.
Reporting directly to the Site Manager, the Multi Skilled Operative will work on the day‑to‑day operations of mobile and fixed plant, along with various site duties. You will work with the team to deliver the site plan, ensuring that all stocks are maintained and replenished in good time, while keeping housekeeping standards across the site consistently high.
Your responsibilities in this role will include (not exhaustive):
1. Operating both fixed and mobile plant on site
2. Operating the weighbridge
3. Working with other members of the team to ensure customers receive high‑quality material and on‑time deliveries
4. Assisting the Supervisor with achieving daily/weekly production targets
5. Following SHE policies and procedures
6. Ensuring all plant conforms with safety requirements at all times
7. Upholding Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality responsibilities
8. Carrying out plant inspections, acting on defects and implementing remedial action
9. Maximising plant availability
10. Maintaining high housekeeping standards around site
Please note: Flexibility and adaptability are essential, with overtime available to support the site’s production requirements.
What we are looking for
To succeed in the role of Multi Skilled Operative, we are looking for a future colleague who has:
11. Proven experience driving and operating mobile plant – Loading Shovel, Telehandler, etc.
12. Knowledge of aggregate operations
13. Good timekeeping and flexibility to meet site operating requirements
14. Strong communication skills – able to raise issues promptly with Line Management
15. A full UK manual car driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points
16. Previous experience in a Wharf / Plant / Quarry / Heavy Manufacturing environment (beneficial but not essential, as full training will be provided)
