Summary Heart of Worcestershire College is seeking a confident, motivated, and dynamic individual to join our team as an Apprentice Finance / Accounts Assistant. The successful candidate will develop essential skills in financial administration, data processing, and account management, all while receiving expert guidance and support. Wage £14,526.20 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age National Minimum Wage rate for apprentices Check minimum wage rates (opens in new tab) Minimum apprenticeship wage for the first year and then minimum wage for age thereafter. Training course Accounts or finance assistant (level 2) Hours Monday to Friday, 08:30 - 17:00 (08:30 - 16:30 on a Friday) with an hour lunch 37 hours a week Start date Monday 20 April 2026 Duration 1 year 6 months Positions available 1 Work Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience. What you'll do at work Examine and reconcile data to identify and correct errors Communicate with a range of stakeholders using the correct methods and technical terms where appropriate Use relevant Office and accounting software packages to input and manage date accurately Organise / manage their workload Work closely as a team to offer support and help to peers when needed Work towards the full range of knowledge, skills and behaviours within the Level 2 Accounts / Finance Assistant Apprenticeship Standard Where you'll work Peakman Street Redditch B98 8DW Training Apprenticeships include time away from working for specialist training. You’ll study to gain professional knowledge and skills. Use the organisation’s standard tools and processes to examine data to identify transactional issues such as, reconciliations and inconsistencies between invoices. Recognise and rectify routine errors, escalating as necessary. Plan and review accounting and finance tasks. Communicate with stakeholders to deliver accurate and timely results, avoiding jargon, using language tailored to the audience and different media methods with an appreciation of the risks and benefits to the business of social media and other digital applications. Use finance and accounting software packages to accurately input and manage data to contribute to routine accounting tasks. Handle data and digital technology in line with cyber and data security requirements, using data securely and safely, including backing up data. Record transactional data. Training schedule Mandatory weekly day release to HoW College, Bromsgrove campus along with work based training and support from a Learning Skills Devleopment Officer (LSDO).
