The post holder will be the chief adviser to the Chief Executive Officer, Chair and the Board in relation to all areas of corporate and regulatory governance, and legislative requirements. They are responsible for corporate governance leadership, ensuring the organisations corporate affairs are undertaken to the highest standards of probity according to statutory and legislative requirements. The Director of Integrated Governance is a pivotal board role providing leadership and development of our governance and corporate affairs. The purpose of the role is to develop, maintain and continuously improve our corporate governance arrangements so that the Board are assured that the people in our communities whom we are here to serve, receive the highest levels of care. The Director of Integrated Governance will play a key role in providing corporate leadership and assurance as a member of the Board. * To be accountable to the Board on all aspects of assurance, compliance, regulation, and accreditation matters by leading the development and delivery of exceptional corporate governance through policy, and best practice, and reflecting the strategic intent and direction of the organisation. Ensure that this is in line with the standards of good governance set for the NHS and as recognised by ICSA. * Advise the Board on all legal matters, securing external legal opinion when specific legal expertise and/or legal independence is required. * Act as the key relationship manager with external regulators and auditors including, but not limited to, NHS England (NHSE), Care Quality Commission (CQC), appointed auditors and Health & Safety Executive (HSE). Experience and Knowledge: * Experience operating at corporate board level, with direct experience as a member or senior advisor to the Board and as a strategic director and including significant governance experience within health or similar public sector organisations. * Preparing end of year and periodic reports and reviews for Board, including those for audit purposes operating to a disciplined schedule. * Preparing and presenting complex reports to boards/committees and external organisations, working across a range of statutory, public, commercial, and voluntary bodies. * Hold a post graduate qualification within risk, governance or associated field.
