About the role:
We are seeking an experienced commercial lawyer to be our first in-house Legal Counsel hire.The role is being created to oversee our legal operations and manage legal risks effectively. The ideal candidate will have a broad range of experience in commercial law, including property and employment matters, and will play a critical role in safeguarding our organization's legal and ethical integrity.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide legal guidance to the board and senior management
* Manage relationships with our external legal services providers
* Support our brands and clinics on all legal matters
Commercial:
* Draft contracts and terms and conditions for our services provided to our patients
* Review and negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers, partners, and service providers
Property:
* provide support to the Strategy director and property team re: leases and property purchases
Transactions:
* advising on any potential acquisition and co-ordinating any legal due diligence procedures
* provide legal support to the HR team including with employment contracts and for employment disputes
Insurance:
co-ordination with providers, ensuring adequate coverage for the business, and managing any claims processes
Medical:
supporting our Chief Medical Director and Director of Compliance to ensure compliance with UK fertility laws and regulations
Finance:
* support with any loan facilities and support with FCA regulations
Qualifications & Skills:
* Qualified solicitor in the UK with a valid practising certificate.
* Proven experience in commercial law, with significant expertise in property and employment law.
* Experience in the healthcare sector is advantageous.
* Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
* Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
* High ethical standards and professionalism.
* 24 days’ Annual Leave plus public Bank Holidays (based on full time 40-hour week)
