About the role
Join a diverse team of construction and design experts working for a small specialist architectural practice in Birmingham. The role is for a CDM Consultant, Assistant CDM Consultant or Principal Designer to join the team and support the Principal Designer/BRPD Director on delivering design risk management projects for clients. This vacancy is ideal for someone who can already do the Principal Designer role, or for someone with some basic knowledge who wants to develop.
Key responsibilities
Assisting the Principal Designer with design risk management projects for clients. Providing structured on‑the‑job training and close support to develop expertise as a CDM Consultant, Assistant CDM Consultant or Principal Designer.
Qualifications and experience
A relevant health and safety qualification, such as NEBOSH Construction or NEBOSH General, is essential. Alternatively, a background or qualification in design is desirable.
Personal characteristics
Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. A proactive attitude and a genuine eagerness to learn and develop. Ability to manage multiple projects, work to deadlines and experience in report writing or willingness to develop this skill.
Training and development
The role is hybrid; however, the office is needed frequently during the first three months while developing skills. The successful candidate will receive training, development and exposure to a range of construction projects as part of a genuinely friendly and supportive team of safety professionals.
