Offer description

Are you passionate about making a real difference in people’s lives? Join us as a Community HIV Support Practitioner (Band 4) and become part of a dynamic, compassionate team supporting people living with HIV across Sussex.

We have two 22.5‑hour posts available, with one role based in Crawley and the other based in Brighton.

In this varied and meaningful role, you’ll provide high-quality clinical and educational support, help reduce health inequalities, and play a vital part in tackling HIV‑related stigma in the community. No two days are the same—whether you’re carrying out phlebotomy, supporting someone to manage their long‑term condition, delivering HIV awareness training, or collaborating with our multidisciplinary teams.

If you are motivated, person‑centred, and excited by the chance to work autonomously with the support of a specialist nurse, we’d love to hear from you.

Due to recent changes in UK immigration and visa rules this role may not be eligible for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship. Applicants who do not currently have the right to work in the UK may not be considered. Candidates requiring sponsorship should review the eligibility criteria on the gov.uk website before applying to assess their eligibility for a Certificate of Sponsorship for this role.

Communication, Education & Advocacy

* Build trusting, respectful relationships with people living with HIV.
* Communicate sensitively with service users, carers, and partner organisations.
* Help plan and deliver HIV education sessions across the Trust and wider community.
* Promote inclusion and challenge HIV‑related stigma.

Audit, Research & Administration

* Contribute to audits and research by collecting and recording data.
* Maintain accurate clinical documentation using electronic record systems.
* Support general administrative tasks essential to high-quality service delivery.

Key Skills & Qualities We’re Looking For
